Visit Öjskogsparken this summer

The museum of Öjskogsparken is an agricultural society built up in close quarters. It's close to nature and provides an excellent example of how life could look in old times. You won't just be able to see it - but also get a sense of experience of what it would have been like to live in those times. There are over 20 historical builidngs in the area e.g. the lovely "Bengtsgården", which is a farmhouse from the 18th century with well-kept interior. Here, everything is kept as if the inhabitants will return at any moment. In the late 1800s one could find most of what one needed in Hagas country trade-market, which is one of the buildings you can look forward to exploring when you visit Öjdkogsparken. You will see fabric, sugar peaks and candy machines, but also the ration cards that were used after the war are on display. Another pearl in the area is the unique and well-equipped museum-pharmacy that is equipped with a laboratory and room for preparation, where one dried the herbs or plants that were used to produce medicine. Here one can also find the newly built museum about Stella Polaris - a secret notificationoperation that was conducted from the village of Nämpnäs in the fall of 1944. In Öjskogsparken one can also find Vridläktaren ("the turning stadium") that is used when Närpes theatre group put on a play in the summer.
