Tomato carnival
During the first weekend in July, there is a carnival in the center of Närpes. The main street is closed off and filled with happy visitors. The atmosphere is lively and there is always something going on. On stage, local talents as well as artists from afar perform. From the market stalls, you can hear the vendors' shouts about their fantastic goods. Grab the opportunity to buy fresh tomatoes and cucumbers from the world's longest tomato table!
There is a variety of events and exhibits going on in the center of Närpes. It's summer, it's light all night, and nobody wants to go to bed. And you don't need to – the local restaurants keep both their tents and outdoor seating open until the wee hours of the night.
