Welcome to a concert where folk music meets film music, old meets new, and acoustic meets electronic.
Närpes-born composer and singer Andrea Eklund presents a concert with British sound artist Jon Hughes, weaving Nordic folk songs in imaginative new arrangements with original music by both artists.
The concert features well-known folk songs, presented both in Eklund’s arrangements and in combination with Hughes’s electroacoustic soundscapes recorded in Finnish environments.
Eklund also performs her own music from the films Moomins and the Winter Wonderland and The Exploits of Moominpappa – Adventures of a Young Moomin, as well as solo songs based on her choral works. Hughes presents newly composed pieces with jazz influences.
